I was born a poor, black child in the hills of Kentucky. Somehow, I grew up to become a young man with obsessions for the obscure and ridiculous while trying to live my life on a daily basis for something beyond my own self-absorption.

I could say that I one day I hope to turn this into a nexus for my fame and glory found on the Internet, which will in turn be used for my running for President and subsequently appointing Jay-Z as the nation’s poet laureate.

But in all seriousness, I’m just doing what I know how to do and hopefully a lot more. Expect my ramblings on faith, politics, music, movies, and the randomness God throws into the mix.

My Name Is Logan

Dave MacDowell: “Lord of the Onion Rings”

I’ve finally gotten around to listening to the most recent Muse album while at work. I’m really digging it - more specifically this song. This is the closest to a quality, modern-day equivalent of Queen that I’ve encountered in some time.

Seriously, the arrangement in this song is absolutely fantastic. I can’t stop listening to it.

Okay, I think this question is little harder.

How many times do I need to go over something like this?

People commit acts. Not ideas. Blaming “right-wingers” or any other group for the actions of an individual who might share some general ideas. It would be equally ignorant to blame homosexuals, anyone with homosexual tendencies, or homosexuality for a single instance of a Catholic Priest sexually molesting a young boy.

When these types of stories arise, I really wish people could see past the ignorance of their ignorant, irrational, and reckless hate to actually think about the situation rather than looking for a way to spin the news to fit their pipe-dream of black/white-good/evil-left/right idiocy.

Photo

"It’s the sticks and stones that wear us down that often save our lives."

“It’s the sticks and stones that wear us down that often save our lives.”

- Paul Meany

Chyron of the Day: All tax evaders look alike.

Chyron of the Day: All tax evaders look alike.

Paper Route - Good Intentions

Paper Route - Good Intentions

Chris Thile and The Punch Brothers perform an amazing cover of...

Chris Thile and The Punch Brothers perform an amazing cover of The Strokes’ “Reptilia.” If you can’t enjoy this, you hate music.
